In New York, there were 176 varsity girls flag football teams during the 2023-2024 season, with a total of 4,130 players. This represents a significant increase from the 51 teams participating in the sport's pilot launch in 2022. Additionally, the NYSPHSAA expects 185 programs to participate in a full season, according to the NYSPHSAA.
